Marie & Matt’s Engagement Session at Almond Beach, Barbados

As soon as I arrived at Almond Beach Resort in Barbados, I was soo excited because it was time to photograph Marie & Matt’s sunset engagement session on the beach! I took one look at the beach and was automatically so inspired. I had them snuggling up to each other, frolicking in the water, and they even suggested going on paddle boards together! How adventurous. Loved it! 🙂 In 2 days, these two were going to be getting married outdoors on the beach and I loved being able to photograph one of their last days as an engaged couple! For these two, everything is better when they are together.

Marie & Matt are photographers as well (MM Fotografie), and I felt so special that they chose ME to photograph their love in Barbados! They also made me feel so welcome to hang out with their friends and family while I was there and I got to meet some amazing people!

This was the spot they would usually end up hanging out each night, so I love the sentimentality behind these photos!Look at that love…wow

They have matching tattoos of their dog’s name 🙂

It was so hilarious watching them try to balance on the board together for this one shot! They did it though! I love that they just kept on trying and trying and didn’t give up 🙂

Melissa & Eric’s Piney River Ranch,Colorado Couples Session!

It has definitely always been my dream to photograph a madly in love couple in or near mountains, in a canoe, and around birch trees. I got all 3 in this one session in Colorado at Piney River Ranch!! How lucky am I!?

It was all thanks to Monique from Piney River Ranch that all this was made possible! She let me shoot way past their closing time and even let me take out 2 canoes for the shoot! I was sooo amazed by the hospitality and the good energy I felt at that place. It’s definitely a dream location for a wedding! Not only because of the beautiful views, but also the people who run Piney River Ranch. They put out such good vibes 🙂

I’m also so thankful for Melissa & Eric for being so adventurous during the session and up for anything I asked them to do! This included hiking up a very grassy and steep hill in their sandals, running, and getting in and out of canoes a couple of times =P These pictures wouldn’t of turned out so amazing if A. You two weren’t up for all that and B. You weren’t so OBVIOUSLY IN LOVE =) So thanks guys!!<3

Also, while on this road trip in Colorado which I took with Agnes, we decided to not plan so much on where we were going to sleep some nights and be up for the adventure of meeting people and crashing at their place! We really wanted to see what it would be like to do that and if any unique experiences would come out of it! When Melissa and Eric asked what we were up to after the session, I mentioned that we were going to figure out where to stay overnight. As soon as I said that, they invited us to stay at their place! It takes a spontaneous and open couple to do something like that and we were sooo grateful! It was really neat to see an apartment in Colorado and to see what a couple does after I photograph them which is shocker…cook some food and relax together before going to sleep 🙂 Oh how I LOVE spontanious adventures, even little ones like crashing at someone’s place. It just makes me think differently and feel alive!

Sarunia Photography – Video Premiere!

I am thrilled to premiere this video for you today! I have dreamed about showing you all a peak behind the scenes of what it’s like to have a session with me and get a feel for the experience. Kristen Sarah of Hopscotch the Globe was the talent behind this project. I had such a blast (and umm, a few shy moments) filming with her! I’m not used to being in front of a camera and speaking into a deep black hole, but Kristen assured me that it helps if I think of it as talking to my best friend. I tried, I really did, but I ended up just talking to Kristen interview style. That definitely calmed my stutters  You can also find this video on the homepage of my website now! Enjoy 🙂

Melissa + Carlo’s Heart Lake Fall Maternity Session

I absolutely LOVE outdoor maternity sessions! Believe it or not, it was lightly raining throughout Melissa and Carlo’s maternity session, but they were troopers and decided to keep going! In turn I was able to create these images. It helped that they were dressed so well 🙂 Congrats Melissa and Carlo on your son’s birth on November 17th!! I wish you two only the best in this new chapter in your life!

Katrina + Andrew’s Downtown Brampton Engagement Session

I always like keep keep engagement sessions as organic as possible. When I asked Katrina what her and Andrew like to do together she said riding around on his motorcycle! Right away I knew this had to be incorporated into the photo session. We decided to have the session downtown Brampton since an urban look suits them more as a couple. As for the motorcycle shots, right away I thought of country roads and the warm perfect light of the sun setting. We drove out just north of Mayfeild Road just in time for the sunset after having some fun downtown brampton. These two were so laidback and fun to photograph! AND they just celebrated their 10 year anniversary!! Congrats you two 🙂 It was a pleasure.

Glendon Manor Couple Session – Rebecca + Hart

This was a super fun session with Rebecca + Hart! They won an engagement session door prize at the Total Wedding Show this year. They are not engaged yet but have been together a while and moving in that direction. I love that they still wanted to celebrate their love and have a couple session with me even though they are not engaged! The shoot took place at Glendon Manor in Toronto. Gorgeous area! Here are some of their favorites!

Toodles Charlie

So it’s been about a week and a half since dogsitting Charlie was officially over. As soon as his owner came to pick him up he was jumping for joy, licking her face like crazy and following her around instead of me. I was a little jealous and sad, but at the same time, happy that they reunited and got to witness it. Charlie and I had some fun adventures toegther. We visited my friend who has a 6 month old cockapoo and had a little doggy date. They were so playful together it was hilarious to watch! We also had some fun walks outside when the snow was so pretty and fluffy! Sometimes I would throw his favorite ball out in the backyard and he would end up having a face full of snow from picking up the ball with his mouth! Sooo cute! There is a photo of it below 🙂 The thing I will miss the most about having Charlie around is how he would always put us in a playfu and goofy mood. He was always distracting us from our day to day lives by hinting that he wants to play. He just brought so much joy to the family! I’ll be missing you xoxoxo

Victoria’s “You are Beautiful” Session

Here is to show that “You are Beautiful” sessions are for ladies of any age! It about embracing your beauty in whatever stage you are in your life and have fun being you on the shoot! We mostly ended up doing the shoot outdoors and I loved it!! Outdoors is defnitely my favorite place to shoot. I will have some examples of “You are Beautiful” sessions with older women soon 🙂

Toronto Wedding & Portrait Photography

Happy Valentines Day!

I spent part of Valentine’s Day downtown Toronto giving couples on the street a complimentary 10 minute session (+ the photos emailed to them) on the spot so that they could have a memory of the their Valentine’s Day in 2013. It felt great to give the couples an unexpected surprise on their day out together. I really appreciate how grateful they were to me as well. Made me feel really good about my idea. I was a little nervous at first stopping people on the street as some didn’t hear me out, thought I was crazy, and would just walk a bit faster by me lol, but like with anything in life, you just have to go for it and not let fear stop you! The couples that were up for it were so enthusiastic and easy going it was awesome 🙂 They were so natural and in love it warmed my heart right up! I would have liked to photograph a few more couples, but it started to rain snow lol. It was weird because it was snowing, but it was really wet so it kind of felt like it was lightly raining. I couldn’t wet my camera anymore so I had to stop at 2 couples. I love the feeling of making people laugh and smile + I love my job! Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤

Toronto Wedding and Portrait Photography

Downtown Toronto Couple Session – Agnes + Jay

Here is a session I did about 2 weeks ago downtown! I usually photograph near wooden leafy areas, so this was a nice change of location and a challenge. Agnes and Jay haven’t been skating together before and they were excited to try it out. It was interesting to see how they would interact with one another. Agnes hasn’t skated for 3 years so I was ready to get some wiping out shots, but surprisingly she didn’t fall once! Not only that but she was so graceful – haha! I would never be able to skate like that! Jay of course was in awe of her the whole time as she skated around like it was nothing and make funny faces at him. Apparently they do this a lot with one another, just make crazy faces at each other. Every couple is quirky in their own way and I love it! 🙂

After skating we went to the grocery store so that we could go back to Jay’s apartment and photograph them eating cheese and drinking wine since they LOVE to do this together. Got some shots of them at the grocery store aswell, so cute! This session was fun. Lots of laughs, and I fell in love with gouda cheese at the grocery store when we were taste testing cheeses!
